Planning Your Day At Gatorama

There are three (3) choices for groups planning their day at Gatorama. We offer Half Day, Full Day and Immersive Experiences. We realize that the needs of groups differ, therefore we allow you to build the perfect day based on the type of day you wish to have. All programs are built on a BASE PLUS system.

Our BASE PROGRAM outlines what happens for every Educational Group that visits Gatorama. You will always Meet A Zookeeper and participate in a Live Gator Hold. Every group will be able to view our Big Gator Feed Show, have Lunch and explore the Wildlife Boardwalk. All of this comes at our BASE PRICE (listed to the right) From there, it's all up to you!

For a small additional fee, our PLUS OPTIONS are an excellent way to kick up the experience!  If you've selected a Half Day (for example), your day has room for the BASE + 1 Experience.  Want to satisfy the STEM requirement for your field trip? Select the Big Gator Fossil Dig Experience. Prefer to have your students practice their hand at catching a live alligator? Then sign up for Uncle Waders Catch A Gator Experience. Prefer not to add a PLUS OPTION? That's ok too, then you'll have more time to explore the Wildlife Boardwalk on your own!

Think your group can handle the Immersive Experience? The day is yours to plan. Your group will receive the BASE + 3 PLUS OPTIONS (of your choice) + EVENING Program. We've made it easy to stay within a budget - just pick and chose what fits!

Many of the experiences we offer Educational Groups are not offered to the general public, and may be your only chance to explore Gatorama from such a unique perspective.  PLEASE NOTE THAT THE UNCLE WADERS REGISTRATION FORM MUST BE NOTARIZED BY PARENT OR GUARDIAN IN ORDER FOR STUDENT TO PARTICIPATE. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS REQUIREMENT.

The Fine Print

Chaperones who do not ride the bus AND have purchased their admission are welcome to meet the group at Gatorama.  They must have a name tag identifying them as part of your school group, and should wait on the front porch until the school bus arrives to meet their classes. Parents who decide to come and have not pre paid their tickets should wait until 10 when the gift shop opens, or until a staff member meets you outside on the front porch.

FAQ

Gatorama requires a 1:10 ratio of adults to students; therefore your group receives one complimentary adult admission for every ten paid student admissions. Additional adults are $12.95 and do not pay for the presentation. All adults must pay with the group and will be charged the regular daily admission ($14.95) if they arrive on the day of the field trip with no admission sticker.
Of course. We sell packages of Croc Crunch for $1.00 and recommend one package per 2-3 students. These can be bought the day of the field trip or pre-ordered. However, for the safety of our animals we do not allow any outside food into the park.
Yes, students and chaperones are welcome to shop in our gift shop. However, due to the small size of our gift shop, we have a strict policy of only one chaperoned group in the shop at a time. This means that only 10 students with at least one adult may be in the gift shop at any one time. We also ask that chaperones take the responsibility of helping young shoppers make wise purchase choices. Students don't often realize that there is sales tax added to each purchase.
Other family members are welcome. They must pay the appropriate rate plus the educational program rate if your group chooses that. Also, to receive the field trip rate, they must prepay. If they show up on the day of the fieldtrip to Gatorama with no admission sticker they will be charged the daily admission rate plus the educational program rate.
A typical field trip at Gatorama looks like this Arrive 10:00AM Presentation 10:15AM Self-guided tour 10:45AM Feeding Show 11:30AM Lunch 11:45AM Depart 12:30PM Your group may stay longer if you choose to. You may also want to schedule some shopping time if you would like. Also EXTRA LARGE GROUPS of 30 or more will be split into two teams for the presentation and should arrive at 9:00 instead of 10:00. This schedule is just a recommendation, the only things that are set times are the Ed Presentation and the Feeding Show.
Gatorama can easily accommodate groups up to 100 students in one day. If your group has more than that we ask that you break your group up into smaller groups and come on separate days. This provides a better experience for the teacher and the students.
